Road Trip Day 3

I googled which hikes would be most recommended in the little city of San Luis Obispo and Montana De Oro popped up.

Known for the scenic beaches, beautiful hikes, and apparently gorgeous trees down this one path that we did not take...darn it...

Anyway, the early morning started with a visit to the small secluded coastal side of the mountain. It was beautiful, rocky, and...

unbalanced?

Next came the hiking.

We had determined to take a smaller modest hike to start off with but one wrong turn too many concluded in us taking one of the more extreme trails. Good one, me!

But this journey did offer many benefits like these breath-taking views

Papa J was a bit tired afterwards.

We decided to drive to lunch in a nearby town, Morro Bay, which was known for this giant rock/boulder/paper weight. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy...

 Up close was lovely though.

Everything away from the city is so scenic!

Road Trip Day 2

Day two was a slow day as we decided on the spur to purchase tickets to an evening musical show. Not a problem, not at all...except that the show would be in Solvang.

We drove through Hwy 154 and tried not to continually gasp at the beauty of the scenery that surrounded us at every turn. It was difficult, and I do not believe we succeeded.

Solvang is a small sleepy town that is a north of Santa Barbara. It features a small Danish community that thrives from tourism with its wine tastings, small shops, restaurants, etc...

Super cute to visit for an hour. An hour and that's it.

As we awaited nightfall, we drove to another small town called Buellton and found a little park to play in for a few hours. I am definitely in envy of the gorgeous views.

This trip taught me the importance of rest, relaxation, and laughter. I was so glad to have had yet another opportunity to spend time with my family where our laughter only really stops when we're taking breaths.

Oh another thing this trip taught me. You are never too young or old to be weird.

Day One Road Trip

It is not unusual for my family and I to be traveling up north but to step outside of our typical routine is quite the...trip!

Heheh

It was grueling three hour traffic-filled ride up to Santa Barbara but the view and weather itself was well worth the patience. Though my father (the driver) may disagree...

I met up with a great ole friend from middle school and ate with a beautiful background, walked through State Street, and visited the beach to find something called "Footvolley."

As the night was winding down, we retired to our hotel and found a small family-owned Thai restaurant that was delectable and incredibly friendly. This trip's looking good so far =)

Caught in the Moment

You know there are those times when you are in engaged in a silly nonsensical moment and then this happens?

Anyway, how is everyone doing? I am sitting in my living room with a big bowl of leftover takeout Thai noodles trying to figure out what to write on this blog.

Life in photos

Darn, I suck at keeping up with my blog this year!

I'm sorry, dear readers. Me thinks my life is changing and it's been hard to adjust to immediately.

I believe my blogs for the time being will be heavily photo-based until I can get higher ground to write something more substantial than my usual "sorry it's been awhile"

Thank you for sticking with me, knowing that even one person has glanced at my blog brightens my days and puts a cheery bounce in my step =)
