Lazy Sunday Afternoons

After stressful weekdays, we need some stress-free weekends!

I am not the typical party girl who goes out from dusk till dawn, finding different ways to "get into trouble" so no Hollywood A-list lifestyle shared here.

I much rather enjoy good ole family fun and dinner parties with friends and wholesome outings and vegging out in front of the tv with chips and iced tea.

This particular afternoon is one where laying on the floor next to your dog seems most appropriate. And then there were two.

Drinking liquids

How many of you are frequent bathroom users? Me! Me! Me!

Holy moly it's so annoying if I happened to drink coffee or iced teas or ... water? I tend to make many trips to the restroom.

How did I end up here?

Anyway, I was just thinking about the balances in my life and how important it is to incorporate all the "extras." My worst nightmare would be to be stuck in that sticky sticky rut: work/eat/work/eat/sleep/work/etc... I am no robot!

It is difficult though to find the energy to push yourself to do something after your 8+ hours of working but at times, it is necessary. Do you have to come back from work and go running? No, but you would feel better in the long run.

This has been motivating for myself... me motivating myself? Win win? As I lay here feeling sleepy and encouraged- I will eat my dinner, rest a bit, and then get off my lazy booty and get a few workouts in! You go do it too!

Getting ready

Every morning I wake up with a sense of disappointment, "What? Already?"

What I have found to be very helpful was not a special diet pill or ritual chant. What really helped me was a moment to myself. Waking up early to spend extra time getting ready gives me a chance to mentally prepare myself for the rest of the day.

This is how I wake up.

Scary.

It takes a lot of energy to pull myself out of my deep slumber, hit that alarm clock while avoiding the "Snooze" button, and shuffle towards the restroom to wash my sleepy face.

After the washing and teeth brushing, I come back to my vanity table ready for my makeup. It takes concentration but not much deep thought so I typically allow my muscle memory to take me through the routine motions. It's a twenty minute activity that ends with spritz of perfume and a step towards the real beginning of my day.

Woot woot!

Jumbled Thoughts

Hello world!

I must say I miss typing here. Hello keyboard, I have almost forgotten where the letter "Q" resided.

As all the summer peaks around the corner I have become quite jealous of the students roaming freely (and obnoxiously) for their break. I look and feel that longing to walk towards the beach. Don't do it, dumbo!

You know how people often say, "Appreciate school now, kiddos, because you'll miss it" ... truth is: you don't miss school. You miss school breaks!

I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out my current path and my future path. If you feel confused about what I am saying, I am confused too. What am I dong? Am I spending sufficient time in my life doing what is worth my time? Am I happy?

Lots of questions from the recent grad but no answers yet.. I suppose this is a big reason why I am not updating anything here. I want to find answers and I want to share them here when I do.

Our generation IS all about instant gratification. But as generations grow - we become faster, stronger, more efficient, more progressive... Same as technology progresses, our processes develop alongside. My thoughts, like me, are too scrambled right now =T oye.

in other news...

Father's Day is coming up!

and now I need to sleep.

I shall return. Cereally!

What did I do today

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. And sometimes it is just a picture.

There was much laughter and desserts and lattes and sunshine and bubbles today. But I shall leave you with one picture that I cannot even begin to explain.

Happy Saturday!

Whew.

I finally have one Saturday to sleep in (though it was a short lived dream as I naturally awoke at 8:30) and take a breather.

It's been a frantically busy few weeks with events and obligations...whew.

Anyway, happy June 2012! It looks to be a promising summer with blue skies and fluffy - non threatening - clouds and I MISS THE BEACH!

About a month ago I had a pondering with a close friend and realized we shared a similar vision. To take our design knowledge into unconquered boundaries. First off to inject some of our contributions to the stationary world with boxes, notebooks, and folders. Next stop - the wedding industry!

If you happen to be interested, we had to create Spring + to showcase what we've created =)

Taking a mini hiatus from that project, I am going to be chillaxing (chilling/relaxing OR chili + laxatives + crying) and I will dedicated this month of June to taking as many pictures of the everyday as I can and sharing it here.

First one for the week was from California Adventures in Anaheim, pink wrist bands for the sneak preview of Carsland.

Cheers!

June

It is already the end of the first week of June. Where did it go?

Life is full of opportunities and I'm grasping at them. It has definitely been busy lately and I will return with full force soon. Thank you so much if you are still reading this!

I'm embarking on a new little side journey and I'm excited to share with you what we have done =) Talk (type) to you all soon!
